Site Administrator - Nights

Monday - Thursday 22.00 - 06.00
Wisbech, Cambridgeshire

Working within a fast-paced warehouse operation responsible for the day to day customer service administration, processing all outbound and inbound movements for the customers and ensuring all administrative tasks are completed to the highest standards in line with the customer SLAs.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Processing of outbound and inbound movements
  • Day to day paperwork processing and filing
  • Provide clerical support to the warehouse and transport team as required
  • Work effectively as part of the larger Wisbech team
  • Run reports and paperwork from the customers own system
  • Processing packaging for both inbound and outbound deliveries
  • Support, comply and ensure complicity with Health, Safety and Environmental regulations, the company handbook, Quality standards and all other company policies and procedures.
  • Complete audit checks on key areas of the business

You will from time to time be required to undertake other duties of a similar nature as reasonably required by your line manager.  You are required to always follow all Knowles Logistics policies and procedures and take account of Knowles Logistics guidance.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be qualified to GCSE Level in English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Have the ability to prioritise and complete all work to agreed time-scales
  • Pay close attention to detail.

 Skills and Aptitudes          

  • Be proficient in the use of MS Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point
  • Have the ability to  learn and become proficient with in house systems
  • Have a high level of honesty and integrity.
  • Be Flexible with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.

Key Accountabilities:

Customer Service

Ensure effective and efficient running of the warehouse function and customer satisfaction by: 

  • Taking delivery of goods and supplies
  • Storing of goods
  • Picking of goods
  • Preparation of stock
  • Loading of stock by hand, pump truck or forklift
  • Keep accurate records of stocks
  • Assisting with stock taking as and when required
  • Keeping warehouse and work area clean and tidy through use of chemicals and non hazardous equipment
  • Use of the correct methods for manual handling
  • Use of automatic wrapper to correct procedure
  • Completion of relevant paperwork
  • Correct completion of the picking and unloading paperwork and IT based systems
  • Ensuring cleanliness of stock and warehouse (this includes cleaning spillages and damages as they happen or on discovery)

Communication

  • Contact internal customers to resolve any queries or problem that may arise with paperwork
  • Responding to and dealing with customer communication by email and telephone

Teamwork

  • Encouraging teamwork within the workplace by displaying the correct behaviours towards all members of the Knowles Transport Ltd teams

HR Advisor

The Role:

Provide support to the HR Manager on ER related matters and to the managers across functions including areas of Resourcing, Disciplinary Investigations and Absence Management.

Supporting business strategy, development and continuous improvement, whilst maintaining employee engagement and welfare.

Requirements:

Minimum of two years’ experience working in an operational HR capacity, CIPD level 3 as a minimum

Confident and demonstrable understanding of employment law

Articulate communicator, both written and verbal to persons at all levels

Flexible and adaptable in approach to ever changing workload and deadlines

Examples of adding value as both an individual contributor and active team member

Experience of dealing with challenging individuals and approachable to employees at all levels

Ability to work with the team to recognise, implement and review development plans for individuals

Ability to represent the Human Resource function internally & externally

Requirements:

  • Comfortable with being based on the road
  • Required to regularly work to tight deadlines that may require additional hours of work at times of pressure
  • Flexibility is required during peak periods e.g. Christmas, Easter, etc. and to work additional shifts to cover holiday and sickness
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines in a time critical environment
  • Professional and courteous when communicating with colleagues or customers
  • C+E UK Licence
  • Up to date CPC Training

Key Accountabilities:

  • Providing high standard of customer service and relations to customers and suppliers, ensuring compliance with their site rules and regulations at all times
  • Liaising with the Transport desk to make them aware of any potential difficulties or any variations from original brief
  • Ensuring that the vehicle is driven at all times with the utmost concern for other road users, pedestrians and the local environments through which you travel
  • To accurately complete all documentation required by the Company and the customer
  • Ensuring that all Company rules and regulations and compliance with legislation is achieved at all times
  • Ensuring that paperwork is checked against consignment, reporting any issues or differences
  • To strive to ensure the punctual collection and delivery of all loads
  • Ensuring the safety of the vehicle and its load at all times whilst on duty and reporting any defects to the Traffic office/Workshop as soon as identified
  • Assisting with the loading and unloading of the vehicle, using lifting equipment where authorised and trained to do so
  • To be flexible in terms of starting and finishing times of shifts
  • To maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle whilst on duty, leaving the vehicle as you would expect to find it and reporting of any defects immediately
  • To undertake any other tasks as reasonably requested by Transport Operator
  • To maintain trailer hygiene to the standards set by our customer including sweeping out of the trailers as and when required or instructed.
